Gumbo Workshop--Friday, March 11th, 4-6 p.m.

Mr. Sambo Rhodes will be teaching members two different ways to make a traditional Louisiana Gumbo. Call the Richland 4-H office to register by March 10th. Space is limited.


March Photography Contest

Theme: Spring Deadline: March 24th

The first day of spring is March 20th! Spring represents fresh beginnings and new life. Capture that in your picture. Show off your skills by taking a picture and submitting it in our contest. Photos can be submitted in person to school club leaders, dropped by our Richland Extension office or emailed to bcorona@agcenter.lsu.edu.


Beef and Dairy Poster Workshop

March 10th, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. (You may come and go during that time.)

Come and get ideas for your poster design and get feedback from others. This workshop will be led by Lauren Ellzey, who won first place in the state contest last year. (You do not have to come to this workshop to enter a poster in the contest.)

Beef and Dairy posters are due to the 4-H office by March 24th. Please see our parent Facebook page or call the 4-H office for rules and regulations. Parish winners go on to compete for monetary prizes at the state level.


Portfolio Office Hours

March 11th, 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.

4-H portfolios and project books are a great way to learn something new and win a free trip while doing it! Come get some help documenting all your hard work and making it shine for the state record book contest. No supplies needed, just stop by the 4-H office for some help getting started. You can always email Mrs. Bethany at BCorona@agcenter.lsu.edu if you have questions.


4-H Summer Camp

Dates: July 4-7, 2022 Eligible: 4th - 6th graders Deadline: April 29, 2022 Cost: $175

There is 8-Male and 8-Female spots available. Please contact Mrs. Bethany at the 4-H office to register. (Due to Covid regulations and storm damage at Camp Grant Walker, we have very limited spots. Campers will be chosen by seniority, as well as 4-H participation over this school year. If we run out of spots, the camp will have a waiting list, so please register in hopes they will have extra beds available.


March Photography Project Club

Meeting March 28th, 4-5:00 p.m. at the 4-H office

Do you love taking pictures and want to learn more about photography? Join us each month as we learn a different skill from local photographers.


Clover Art Contest

Deadline: March 24th

St. Patrick's Day has something in common with 4-H: CLOVERS! Create some type of art involving clovers. They can be 4-H or St. Patrick's Day themed if you like. There will be two judging categories: 4th - 6th and 7th - 12th grades. These can be turned in to your school club leader and Mrs. Bethany will pick them up or bring by the 4-H office.
