A demonstration can be presented by an individual or a team of 2 contestants. Contest divisions for demonstrations are grades 4 and 5, grades 6 to 8, and grades 9 through 12. The time limit for the demo is 5 to 7 minutes. The demonstration must be at least 5 minutes but no longer than 7 minutes. Points will be deducted for demonstrations that are shorter than 5 minutes. Points will be deducted for every minute over 7 minutes. The Demonstration must be a method demonstration on any subject, not an illustrated talk. A method demonstration is a planned presentation in which one or a team of two 4-H members teach information related to an activity or project. A demonstration is showing how to do something while telling how to do it.
The Career Preparation Interview divisions are grades 4 and 5, grades 6 to 8, and grades 9 through 12. Dress appropriately for a short interview with judges that will last 5 minutes or less.
First, second, and third place winners will receive cash awards. All participants will receive ribbons.
