(11/09/21) BATON ROUGE, La. — The LSU AgCenter will host its annual poinsettia show and sale Nov. 27 at the AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden in Baton Rouge.
More than 20 varieties of fresh poinsettias — including both classic and unique types — will be on display and for sale. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the orangerie and pavilion at the Botanic Gardens.
The show and sale will feature varieties from breeders around the world that have been evaluated at the Botanic Gardens, which participates in a national trial program for new and classic poinsettia varieties. A limited number of each variety will be available.
Visitors will have the chance to participate in a survey and rate the varieties on display.
Admission is free and open to the public. Plants are $12 to $40 apiece. Proceeds help fund educational initiatives at the Botanic Gardens.
The gardens are located at 4560 Essen Lane near Interstate 10. For more information, call 225-763-3990 or email Katie Guitreau at kguitreau@agcenter.lsu.edu.
