Congratulations to Andrew and Aubrey Devillier on completing this project. This was not an easy task. Andrew and Aubrey are our Parish Winner for the largest pumpkin weighing in at 42lbs , 39 lbs, smallest at .2 lbs, most unique, and best records! 4-H members were given the opportunity to grow their own pumpkins to compete in a statewide contest.
With a little help from other 4-H Youth Development Professionals and Dr. Fontenot’s team, the pumpkin contest took off with approximately 600 4-H members from 46 parishes participating
We continue to wait the state results.
This activity will encourage participants to learn more about the beef industry while encouraging beef industry, product, and nutrition promotion. Through creative and original thinking participants will develop a visual form of marketing communication to convey thoughts and ideas. Participants are expected to create original work using resources wisely. The rules of the Beef Poster Contest are as follows:

Contest Rules
1. Poster must be on 22x28” poster board only.
2. Place your name, address, age, grade in school, parish, & division on the upper right corner on the back of your poster.
3. Do Not Use Copyrighted materials
4. The finished poster should be appropriate for use on a billboard.
Division I— 4th, 5th, & 6th grades
Division II—7th, 8th, & 9th grades
Division III—10th, 11th, & 12th grades
Please turn in your beef posters at your November club meeting or the 4-H office by November 30th.
Merry Christmas! Join us in a Christmas Workshop where we will make Christmas wreaths, ornaments, and Christmas cookies, and create a service project for the Lacour House and Lakeview Manor! The workshop will be held on:

Are you a graduating senior who would like to show off your 4-H pride during graduation? Then apply today for your very own “4-H Honor Cord”. This award is a way to be recognized for all of the hard work you have put into 4-H over the years. Requirements include:
Must be an enrolled 4-H member in good standing.
Must be a graduating senior.
Must have been enrolled in 4-H for 3 years of their high school career.
Must have participated in at least one state-sponsored 4-H program in the last 3 years.
APPLICATIONS ARE DUE JANUARY 21, 2021
All 7th – 12th grade 4-H members are encouraged to join and participate in the Jr. Leader Club. This club is full of fun and friendship! Members will get to attend the fun-interactive monthly meetings and participate in the service activities the club works with each year. The Jr. Leader club also helps to run parish 4-H activities by serving as judges, registering participants, and setting up for contests. We will rely on this group more than ever to help with our programming.

The LSU AgCenter and the LSU College of Agriculture
