Cathy Mouton

Mrs. Cathy “Skeeter” Mouton has worn many hats with the 4-H Program since starting as a 4-H volunteer 30 years ago. As the adult volunteer for the Iberia 4-H Sewing, Cooking and Junior Leader Clubs, she assisted with organizing and conducting many educational programs and with community service projects such as: The Can Food Drive, Coats for Kids, Toys for Tots, and the Iberia 4-H “Pop-Top” Drive for the Ronald McDonald House Charity Program. By collecting and recycling pop tops during the last 17 years, 4-H members have generated over $5,000.00 for Ronald McDonald House Charities in Louisiana and Texas. Perhaps Cathy’s most significant role supporting the Iberia 4-H Program has been as a member of the Iberia Parish 4-H Foundation for over 20 years. She played a key role in the establishment of the Iberia 4-H Foundation Golf Tournament and serves as a chairperson for several committees. Assets generated for the event annually total in excess of $5,000.00. She also records the Iberia 4-H Foundation’s level of funds raised during the Sugarcane Festival 4-H Livestock Sale. Over the past 20 years, these events generated over $100,000.00 for the Iberia 4-H Endowed Account. Thanks to her hard work and guidance, the Iberia Parish 4-H Foundation is strong and steady with current total net assets exceeding $250,000.00., In 2009, Cathy was a key member of the committee that improved the rules and regulations for the Annual Sugarcane Festival 4-H Livestock Show & Sale. She has chaired several sub-committees of the Iberia Parish 4-H Advisory Committee, updated parish contests, and chaperoned at 4-H camp and 4-H University. Cathy served as an adult volunteer on the State 4-H Food and Fitness Board for 4 years. She received the Louisiana 4-H Adult Volunteer Leader Award through which she won a trip to National 4-H Congress in Atlanta. The 2014 Iberia Parish 4-H Achievement Day was dedicated to Cathy.
