Our Ascension 4-H Culinary contests have come to an end and we are so proud of our 4-Her’s who competed in a modified contest format this year! It wasn’t normal at all, but you persevered and competed anyway! Thank you to all of our contestants!! The next adventure in our culinary arts contest will be our Regional competition! Yet again the format will be adjusted to accommodate our current restrictions, but this contest will be held in person at our annual location in Ponchatoula. Since we are erring on the side of caution and electing to not taste the dishes of our contestants, our Regional Culinary Arts Contest has temporarily converted to an illustration talk contest highlighting our Louisiana Commodities. We have numerous categories and the full contest details can be found on our Ascension Website. The contest will be split into our normal grade categories and we can send 6 4-H members in each division. To participate, you did not have to compete or win any of our previous cookery contests; however, our previous parish contest winners will have the first choice in selecting the category they desire, but we have so many choices I know we can find suitable topics for all who wish to participate. The deadline to select your topic and confirm your attendance will be April 23rd. Please call Mrs. Stephanie @ 225-621-5799 or check our website for further details.
