Attending summer camp at Camp Grant Walker is the highlight for so many Louisiana 4-H youth. Unfortunately, due to damage caused by two hurricanes in the fall of 2020, Camp Grant Walker is not well enough to welcome campers back this summer. However, camp must go on! Thanks to the Louisiana 4-H Program, Camp Grant Walker is leaving Pollock, Louisiana and coming to Pointe Coupee Parish to hose a St. Landry / Pointe Coupee Parish 4-H Day Camp on June 16, 2021.
4-H Day Camp is open to 4th - 6th grade 4-H'ers. The cost of the camp is $25.00 which includes snacks, lunch, and a t-shirt. The day camp will be held at the Pointe Coupee Parish Multi-Use Facility in New Roads, Louisiana. Transportation to and from the camp will be the responsibility of the 4-H'ers parents/guardians.
Applications and $25.00 registration fee are due to the 4-H Office by Monday, May 3, 2021. Applications can be received from the 4-H Office or from your 4-H Club leader at school. A limited number of slots are open for our parish. Slots will be filled as applications are received. For more information contact the 4-H Office at 337-948-0561.
Please turn in your club’s point sheets and treasurer’s reports by April 21, 2021 at the Extension Office . You should have received a copy of the forms earlier in the school year in the 4-H Leader Handbook.
Point sheets are used to determine which clubs will receive “Superior” or “Outstanding” club awards for the 2020-2021 club year. Trophies will be awarded to clubs in May.
The first meeting for 2021 State 4-H University contestants will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at the Extension Office.
4-H University contests will be held from June 10-24, 2021. Contestants must be 8th-12th grade to participate. 4-H University applications are due to the Extension Office by April 21, 2021.
The April meeting will be Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 5:00 - 6:00 PM at the Extension Office.
