4-H Scholarships

College can be expensive and 4-H would like to assist in furthering your education. Apply for a 4-H Scholarship today! In order to apply for a scholarship, you must be a graduating senior. Two scholarships are available, Scott Truck and Tractor & the Louisiana State 4-H Scholarship.

The deadline to submit applications to the 4-H The office is Mar. 1, 2021.

Beef Poster Contest

Louisiana 4-H is hosting the 2021 Louisiana Beef Industry Council Beef Poster Contest. This contest encourages youth to learn more about the beef industry while promoting the beef industry nutrition and products.

This contest is open to all 4-H’ers, 4th-12th grades. The poster can be either done on a “22x28” poster board or digitally using Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva.

The deadline to submit all poster is March 5, 2021

Beekeeping Essay Contest

Honey bee colonies have developed many ways to stay healthy. Their immune responses range from behaviors such as grooming to using materials such as propolis, a plant-derived substance bees coat on the interior of a hive for antimicrobial purposes. Even the gut of the honey bee contains beneficial bacteria to help the bee stay healthy!

Take part in the annual National 4-H Beekeeping Essay Contest.

The deadline to submit is March 5.

Commodity Ambassador Contest

Enhance your leadership and communication skills by participating in the annual Louisiana 4-H Commodity Ambassador Contest. This contest is open to enrolled 4-H members in grades 4-12 and has the opportunity to compete in one (1) of eight (8) categories. Cash prizes will be given out to the top individual in each division and category.

The deadline to submit the video and register is Friday, Feb. 19, 2021

Draw-A-Dairy Billboard Contest

Louisiana 4-H is hosting the 2021 Draw-A-Dairy Billboard Contest. This contest encourages youth to learn more about milk and milk products and their importance to healthy bodies. Through creative and original thinking participants will develop a visual form of marketing communication to convey thoughts and ideas.

Open to 4-H members in grades 4th – 12th, youth will be placed within their respective division based on their grade level. Posters must be on a 22” x 28” regular poster board ONLY, no digital submission allowed!

The deadline to submit your poster is March 5, 2021.

Emerald Achievement Award

Are you 15 years old or older as of January 1, 2021? Consider applying for the 4-H Emerald Achievement Award! 4-H members who apply must have at least three (3) years of 4-H Club work, including this year, have completed one (1) year of active Jr. Leader work, excluding this year, and score at least 360 points on the application scorecard. 4-H members can only win this award once.

Golden Clover Award

Are you 14 years old or younger as of January 1, 2021? Consider applying for the 4-H Golden Clover Award! 4-H members who apply must have at least two (2) years of 4-H Club work, including this year, and score at least 250 points on the application scorecard. 4-H members can only win this award once.

Junior Leadership Conference

Calling all 8th – 12th grade 4-H members, “Walk Your Way to Leadership” by participating in the 2021 Junior Leadership Conference (JLC). This year JLC will be a one-day event and you have a choice of which location you’d like to attend. Each parish is allotted four (4) spots, but more can be placed on a waiting list in case other parishes do not use their spots.

This leadership development opportunity is planned and executed by your peers of serve on the Louisiana State 4-H Executive Board. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to enhance your leadership skills, meet new individuals’ region, and represent East Feliciana Parish at the state event.

The deadline to register is Friday, Feb. 5, 2021.

Regional Shooting Sports Matches

The time has come to register to be a part of the Southern Regional 4-H Shooting Sports Match in your respective discipline. 4-H members must have their hunter’s education licenses as well as have completed eight (8) hours of practice in their respective discipline. This match is a qualifying match, therefore if you choose to compete in the state match or have the opportunity to represent Louisiana 4-H at the National Championships you must register for the Regional Match. The Southern Regional Match will take place Mar. 15 – 21, 2021 in both Ascension and West Baton Rouge Parishes.

The deadline to submit registration and payment is Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.
