Cathy Falcon, Lafayette Parish
Mrs. Cathy Falcon began her reign as the 4-H leader at St. Genevieve Catholic School in 1991 and continued in that role until she retired in 2018.
In addition to serving 28 years as a 4-H leader, Mrs. Falcon has served many roles with Louisiana 4-H, including several terms as a member on the Lafayette 4-H Volunteer Leadership Development Task Force Subcommittee, the Overall Lafayette 4-H Youth Development Advisory Council, and the State Volunteer Leader Association Board.
Mrs. Falcon has held countless workshops for her 4-H members, including parish sewing classes, numerous record book workshops, cookie contests, and annual field trips such as swamp tours. She has taught her 4-H members the importance of serving their local community through service-learning projects that benefit animal shelters, food pantries, and the community by promoting good health and education. Mrs. Falcon coordinates an annual field trip with her club members to AgMagic in Baton Rouge. This program allows members to participate in an educational journey through Louisiana agriculture, where they learn more about agriculture and the critical role it plays in our daily lives.
Mrs. Falcon is always encouraging her club members to set goals and achieve them. She is the true definition of service, and her dedication to 4-H, past and present club members, and serving others in need is truly inspirational.
Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Cathy Falcon to the Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame!
