Tawny crazy ants' role in sugarcane ecosystem being studied

(Video 08/08/19) Ants are never welcomed guests to a picnic, but red imported fire ants are well-received in Louisiana sugarcane fields. However, a newer species of ant is displacing fire ants in cane fields, which has some scientists and growers concerned. AgCenter correspondent Craig Gautreaux has this report from St. John the Baptist Parish.
