Looking for something nutritious and delicious? Do you want to help the youth of West Feliciana? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then the Annual 4-H Sweet Potato Sale is for YOU!
This will be the 19th year the West Feliciana 4-H Program will be selling sweet potatoes. It has been a successful fundraiser for the 4-H youth and is popular with the community.The annual sale not only benefits the 4-H program but also provides buyers with a Louisiana agricultural product that is delicious, nutritious, and perfect for the season. Sweet potatoes come from trusted growers in the Opelousas, LA area.It is the sole 4-H fundraiser that helps support numerous parish 4-H activities.Proceeds are used to purchase incentives and educational materials, for transportation expenses, to fund a local 4-H scholarship and to provide other support for 4-H programs and activities.Four-H’ers win prizes and incentives for participation in the Sweet Potato Sale.
West Feliciana 4-H is now taking orders for 40 pound boxes of kiln-dried, baking-size sweet potatoes.Orders may be placed with any West Feliciana 4-H’er or at the LSU Ag Center/4-H Office in St. Francisville .Orders will be taken through October 31.All orders must be prepaid by check or money order.Sweet potatoes will be available for pickup around the 3rd week of November. Exact dates will be provided to buyers as delivery plans are finalized.
