Not only was Mrs. Gayla Crum a 4-Her for 9 years, but she has and is currently serving as a club leader in Concordia for the past 25 years. For half of those 25 years, she led both the junior and senior high clubs where she encouraged her members to give back to those in need through the many community service activities she has guided them through. She continuously encourages involvement in all activities and assists in project work. She was also instrumental in getting a shooting sports program started in Concordia and served as an instructor for 6 years. Additionally, she is credited with getting the first 4-H gardening plot started in her parish school. Gayla has been a member of the parish 4-H advisory board for 18 years and was an officer of the parish foundation for 13 years. She has attended five volunteer leader forums and has directed, advised and transported youth for many of her years of service. Given her extensive involvement, Gayla has been highly decorated with several outstanding club leader awards, alumni awards, blue ribbon awards for child development and egg cookery, parish project records in food and nutrition, and other various accolades.
