Mrs. Kathy Landry started her 4-H experiences as a 4-H member more than 40 years ago. She was a livestock exhibitor for many years. After finishing college, she started working as a 4-H agent and she was with extension for 9 years. She then decided to go back to the classroom and she was a school teacher until she retired this past May. She became a volunteer as her son and daughter joined 4-H and was extremely involved until they graduated. Ten years ago, she decided she was ready to become the 4-H leader at her school. As club leader, she provided opportunities to all Centerville High School club members and her club quickly ended up being one of St. Mary Parish’s largest clubs. She has also been a dedicated volunteer with the state food and fitness board and is heavily involved in healthy living. She has chaperoned several events including: summer camps, 4-H universities, and food and fitness camp. Her numerous contributions have earned her several leadership awards. Her eagerness to provide opportunities to kids in such an enthusiastic manner is admirable. She is someone you can always count on and always actively seeks opportunities to recruit new members.
