Caldwell 4-H Shooting Sports has scheduled a safety meeting for 6:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7 at the First Baptist Church in Columbia. This is a mandatory meeting that all Caldwell 4-H Shooting Sports members must attend. If you are interested in joining Shooting Sports there is still time to sign up before the meeting; however, after this December meeting Caldwell 4-H Shooting Sports registration will close. Members have the choice of participating in shotgun, rifle or archery disciplines. Members participating in rifle and shotgun will need to bring their firearms to the meeting, unloaded and in a case. Archery members will also need to bring their equipment to the meeting. 4-H Shooting Sports is a program that strives to teach 4-H'ers the safe and responsible use of firearms and archery equipment and promote the highest standards of safety, sportsmanship and ethical behavior. Members will have practice sessions at a local shooting range with certified instructors. Members will also have the opportunity to compete in regional and state competitions to be held in 2018. If you have questions, please contact 4-H agent Jana Bennett at the Caldwell 4-H office, (318) 649-2663.
