If you are a Caldwell 4-H member who would like to participate in the 4-H Shooting Sports program, now is the time to join. 4-H Shooting Sports is a program that strives to teach 4-H'ers the safe and responsible use of firearms and archery equipment and promote the highest standards of safety, sportsmanship and ethical behavior. Disciplines offered to Caldwell 4-H'ers are rifle, shotgun and archery. Members have the opportunity to compete in regional and state competitions that will be held in 2017. Dues are $30 for one discipline and $10 for each additional discipline. Members practice at a range located in the parish and will be notified of practice dates and times. Practice sessions are conducted by adult volunteers who have received training in the Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports program. Members who are 10 years old or older need to have their hunter safety card to participate. A mandatory safety meeting for Shooting Sports members will be held in December. Members will be notified of the meeting date, location and time. Shooting Sports sign-up will close after the December safety meeting. If you are interested in joining, please come by our office located at 106 Jackson Street in Columbia to complete an enrollment form and pay club dues.
