Research, regulations on tap for feral hog meeting

(05/13/16) ALEXANDRIA, La. – With feral swine becoming more of a problem across the state, the LSU AgCenter is sponsoring an informational meeting on May 31 to give updates on the latest research and regulations that are being implemented.

The meeting will be held at the AgCenter Dean Lee Research and Extension Center DeWitt Livestock Facility located on Hwy 71 south of the LSUA campus from 1-3 p.m., said LSU AgCenter area agent Donna Morgan.

“Some of the topics to be covered at this meeting include current control methods, trapping programs, current research efforts, economic impacts and new regulations concerning holding facilities and transporters,” Morgan said.
