1 box macaroni and cheese mix Mix may call for: skim milk margarine OR QUICK (HOMEMADE) MACARONI & CHEESE 1 cup elbow macaroni 4 cups boiling water ¼ teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons flour ¼ teaspoon dry mustard (optional) ¼ teaspoon pepper 1 cup reconstituted instant nonfat dry milk 1 cup processed American cheese, shredded |
1. Prepare according to package directions. 2. Serve ½ cup per person. OR QUICK MACARONI & CHEESE DIRECTIONS 1. Cook elbow macaroni in boiling salted water until tender. 2. Drain. 3. Mix flour, mustard, and pepper with ½ cup of the milk until smooth. Mix with remaining milk and cheese. Stir into macaroni. 4. Cook over low heat, stirring to prevent sticking, until sauce thickens, about 10 minutes. Makes 4 servings (2/3 cup per serving). |
