The Louisiana Agriclimatic Information System (LAIS) is a network of 24
automated weather stations operated by the LSU
AgCenter. The network is managed by the
Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering (BAE).
For data or more
information regarding the network, click on one of the links below or to the left.
Each station consists of a datalogger that observes several electronic instruments on a 3-second interval.
Output is generated by the datalogger:
Every 3 seconds, although this data is normally not archived,
Every minute,
Hourly,
Daily, at midnight,
Daily, at 7am.
As of this writing, the database contains data from late August, 2001, to present. It is updated every
5 minutes. Older data may be added to the database later if time and resources permit.
The Microsoft SQL database consists of two tables. One contains the one-minute data for all stations.
The other contains hourly and daily (both midnight and 7am) summaries for all stations.
