Youth from Webster Parish participated in the Doyline High Desk Project service-learning project. The goal of this project was to generate funds to purchase new desks for the high school wing of Doyline High School. Doyline students, teachers and other school personnel and parents worked together to accomplish these goals.

The observation was made that the desks in the school were worn and broken. There were not enough extra funds in the school system to purchase new desks. 4-H'ers determined how many desks were needed, secured permission to proceed with the project and planned fundraising activities to motivate others to get involved. When enough funds are generated, the principal will order desks. Fundraising is still going on.

This project lasted 100 hours and reached 100 people as of 8/28/2009.
