Adopt War Memorial Civic Center – Beauregard

Youth in Beauregard parish participated in the Adopt a War Memorial Civic Center program. The goal of the project was to help service local historical landmarks. Junior Leader members and parent and adult leaders worked together to achieve this project. The Junior Leaders saw that there was a need to give back to the facility that gives back to the parish 4-H program. They looked at the needs of the facility and what they could give back to them. It was determined that the help of the Junior Leaders would best be provide by trimming hedges, cleaning up facility and picking up trash. Reflection was performed by reviewing what was completed and planning for the future. As of 5/12/2009 8 hours were completed and 1,000 people were served.



Character Counts Puppets

4-H'ers in Beauregard parish also participated in the Character Counts Puppets service-learning project. The purpose of this project was to promote character education. The project lasted 20 hours and served 500 people as of 10/5/2009.
