Sabine Parish 4-H members are collecting animal-related goodies this holiday season to wish the homeless animals at the Sabine Parish Humane Society a “Purr-fect Christmas from Furr-H!” Students from clubs all over the parish collected chew toys, treats, food, blankets, towels and newspapers for the animals at the shelter. The Sabine 4-H Junior Leaders are conducting this project parishwide, and they are encouraging others to visit the shelter in prospect of adopting an animal. The animals at the shelter are often overlooked and stereotyped as unattractive, but many of the dogs and cats at the shelter are pets people have given up for adoption because of their being unable to care for the animal.

Every parish is encouraged to participate in the Statewide Service-Learning Project, "Furrr-H." The Sabine Parish "“Purr-fect Christmas from Furr-H!” is just one example of how 4-H'ers are helping their furry friends!
