Welcome to the Eat Smart Recipe page! Good nutrition is important for maintaining health throughout life yet providing healthful meals on a limited budget can be very challenging. These recipes will help you plan meals and prepare tasty, low-cost foods.

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Program and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - Eduation use the Dietary Guidelines for Americans as a basis for planning healthful meals. The goal is to help individuals and families balance the foods they eat to help reduce the risk of chronic diseases. The recipes are tested for quality and ease of preparation and are used by families across Louisiana.
