With support from Key Partners, the Louisiana Dept. of Natural Resources and U.S. Dept. of Energy, Building Your Louisiana House – Homeowners Guide has been developed and printed. It was written to be a comprehensive, yet consumer-friendly, companion to LaHouse.

The 64-page guidebook includes a brief section on key building science basics that are critical to avoid building problems in this climate, a detailed checklist to use as a planning and analysis tool, a reference guide section that explains the items in the checklist and a long list of sources of additional information.

The guidebook can be obtained through any parish LSU AgCenter Extension office and will be available online at both www.lsuagcenter.com and www.LouisianaHouse.org.

In addition, the www.LouisianaHouse.org Web site has been expanded to include two educational branches – Your House and Your Landscape. At this time, it includes consumer educational features on disaster-resistance, termites and lawn and garden management. It will expand in both breadth and depth.
