Management Practices

  • No scouting is possible since disease does not appear until heading and control is ineffective after this stage.
  • Excessive nitrogen increases diseases.
  • Some varieties have resistance.
  • Boot applications of certain fungicides reduce disease.
  • Planting early allows rice to escape infection.
