New crops for biofuel/bioproduct production

The Deep South has the climate, land and infrastructure to produce 50 percent of the biofuel feedstocks for the United States. Energycane and sweet sorghum are two crops that can be grown in the Deep South as biofuel and bioproduct feedstocks. Presentation by Dr. Don Day related to energycane and sweet sorghum crops researchers with the SUBI project are growing to use in making biofuels and bioproducts.
