What is the 4-H Outdoor Skills Program?
The 4-H Outdoor Skills Program is an active program that is attractive to both youth and adults. The program uses positive learning and interaction with youth and adult role models. For the year 2008-2009 the Florida Parishes 4-H program will offer shooting sports disciplines in shotgun, rifle, archery, pistol and hunting/wildlife. In addition ATV safety had been added. These disciplines are used to help young people develop self-confidence along with a positive image. The curriculum is also designed to assist young people in establishing a personal environmental ethic.
Shooting sports is an activity for everyone – girls, boys, young, old, urban and rural. Participation in the program is not limited by skill or physical abilities.
The 4-H Outdoor Skills program is open to any youth ages 9-20 regardless of where you attend school. This is a fun, action-oriented program. You will develop skills that will last a lifetime.
