WORK LOCATION: Office of Development, LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.The LSU Agricultural Center is a statewide organization with offices in every parish of Louisiana.The administrative headquarters are located in Baton Rouge.

FUNCTION:Provide professional level support for development related events and tasks, assigned tasks in support of public relations, special events, and student activities.

ABOUT THE LSU AGRICULTURAL CENTER:The LSU AgCenter, is one of nine campuses within the broader LSU enterprise (LSU System). The LSU AgCenter includes the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station, which conducts agricultural-based research, and the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service, which extends the knowledge derived from research to the people of the state. The AgCenter is headquartered in Baton Rouge and has 12 “on campus” academic departments and five regions which are made up of 17 branch research stations and an extension office in each parish.For more information, visit the AgCenter’s web site at aligned with the AgCenter is the LSU A&M campus’s College of Agriculture (COA) which oversees the teaching function.The COA has ten academic departments, all of which are shared with the AgCenter.Many faculty hold joint appointments between the AgCenter and the College of Agriculture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:The Coordinator reports to the Senior Director of Development and is a member of the overall development team in support of the LSU College of Agriculture and LSU AgCenter campus.The Coordinator also works with other key members of various administrative offices.Exercises independent judgment, analysis, and decision-making relative to operational matters of the office including communications, event management, clientele records, reports, meetings, advisory boards and task forces.Coordinates all office record-keeping.Manages overall office support functions including processing of administrative transactions and supervising student employees.Serves on committees to advance the office, college, and respective campuses.Ensures proper updating of System level data bases.May work with departments and other units to gather information, advise, and otherwise provide support.Addresses special projects as assigned.This position requires occasional extended workdays and work on evenings or weekends.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years post-college work experience in a field related to the duties of this position.Desire experience in a higher education environment, or development, or public relations.Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work independently with little supervision in order to handle a wide variety of administrative and support related tasks and act on behalf of directors.Must have excellent organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail and be able to effectively interface with a variety of clientele.Must have a willingness to learn and master proprietary donor database systems.
