(This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position. Continuation will depend on funding, job performance, and continued need for the appointment.)
WORK LOCATION: Entomology Department, LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Extension Associate will be responsible for writing, updating, and editing technical and non-technical publications on the biology and management of insect, disease, and weed pests of Louisiana field crops. The Associate will be housed in the laboratory of Dr. T.E. Reagan but will be expected to interact and collaborate with faculty from Entomology, Plant Pathology and Crop Physiology, and the School of Plant, Environmental, and Soil Science in the LSU Agricultural Center.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A B.S. or B.A. degree in applied agricultural sciences (Entomology, Plant Pathology, Agronomy, or related discipline) with a strong background in English, or a degree related to Education and Biology with a background in Entomology, Plant Pathology and/or weed science. The successful candidate must possess strong writing and editing skills. An M.S. degree is desired.
