WORK LOCATION: Botanic Gardens , LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, LA.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Resident Director at the Botanic Gardens, the Research Associate will assist with design and implementation of greenhouse and field trials, taking data and preparing it for publication. This person will assist with conducting research through surveys to further develop a more highly effective, integrated public relations program to assist with marketing, visitor programming, special events, education and fund-raising development. This person will assist the East Baton Rouge Parish Extension Agent, LSU AgCenter Communications and the Event Coordinator at the Botanic Gardens in maintaining information on the LSU AgCenter, Botanic Gardens, Hammond Research Station and SPESS websites, social media platforms and how that research based information can be deployed for different marketing scenarios. They will work with LSU AgCenter Communications to develop and maintain contacts across all media formats - print, broadcast, digital consumer, and trade.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science in Horticulture.
