(This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position. Funding must be available for any continuation of appointment.)
WORK LOCATION: Biotechnology Laboratory, LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, LA
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The LSU AgCenter Biotechnology Laboratory is seeking a part-time research associate to observe trespass horses and deliver contraceptive vaccines to the trespass horses at Ft. Polk, LA. The incumbent will also be expected to work in the field, as needed, in collaboration with scientists from the LSU AgCenter as well as personnel from Ft. Polk.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: M.S. in Environmental Science, Wildlife Management or other related fields is required. The applicant should have a demonstrated record of experience in the following aspects of wildlife management: identifying, tracking, surveying, managing and maintaining population databases. Candidates with experience working with trespass horses in and around the Kisatchie National Forest will be given preference. The candidate should be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
