LSU AgCenter Broilers
Its time again to think about broiler chick orders for the 2017 spring broiler show. The LSU AgCenter junior broiler show chicks will be Straight Run. Exhibitors will be allowed to show one pen of pullets and/or one pen of cockerels. An entry must consist of three (3) broilers (either three pullets or three cockerels.
All broiler chicks for this show must be ordered through the Livestock Show Office.. Please complete the attached form and return it no later than Friday, November 18, 2016. The cost will be .50 cent per chick. Please make checks payable to the “Louisiana Poultry Federation”. Be sure to include payment with your order.

Mrs. Patti Rodrigue Retiring
We would like to say a big super THANK YOU to Mrs. Patti for all of the things that she has done for the 4-H in the past 25 plus years. She has truly been a blessing to all of us and she will be greatly missed by everyone. To show our appreciation for all she has done for the 4-H the school and the 4-H club and Jr. Leaders gave her a surprise retirement party on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 after school. It was well attended and she was very surprised to see that so many people cared about her. Mrs. Patti enjoy your retirement and don’t forget about us. We will miss you and will always love you.
4–H Club and Jr. Leaders retirement party for Mrs. Patti
The 4-H club and Jr. Leaders also gave Mrs. Patti a retirement party on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. She was overwhelmed with tears to know that she was really loved by so many on the same day. The cake and gift they gave her was wonderful. Pizza was also delivered for them to eat. We Will Miss You, Mrs. Patti.
Nutrition Month Tips

Eating healthy around the holidays become a challenge for everyone, so here is a healthy recipe that everyone can try and enjoy with less calories.
Ingredients: 4 cups cauliflower (1 small head) 1 tablespoon oil (canola, olive, or vegetable) 1/4 cup bread crumbs 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions: Preheat oven to 425 degree F. Wash cauliflower under running water. Cut into florets. Mix cauliflower and oil in a medium bowl. Sprinkle bread crumbs, salt, pepper, and garlic powder on the cauliflower. Stir until combined. Line a cookie sheet with foil and spray with cooking spray. Lay cauliflower out in a single layer. Bake for 15 minutes, stir and return to the oven. Bake for 10 minutes more or until tender.
