What: 4-H Challenge Camp is one of the most valuable experiences a young person can have. It’s a learning experience that allows boys and girls to appreciate the outdoors, to live together as a group, to get along with others and to appreciate people with different interests and backgrounds. The activities at 4-H Challenge Camp encourage youth to create team spirit; build self-reliance skills; improve leadership, communication and problem-solving skills; and enhance their self-esteem while developing new friendships.
The EBRP 4-H Shooting Sports Club is ready to get started and welcome new members! Participation is not limited by skill or physical abilities. 4-H Shooting Sports is open to any 4-H youth between the ages of 9-19. The four shooting disciplines offered in East Baton Rouge Parish — archery, air pistol, air rifle and shotgun — are taught by a National or State Certified Instructor.
The Mandatory Training Day will take place Oct.7 from 9-11 a.m. at the 4-H property located at 8300 Comite Acres Drive in Baker. Help celebrate our 4-H Program during National 4-H Week, October 1-7, 2017! Show your 4-H pride by sponsoring school activities throughout the week and help get others share your enthusiasm! Some examples include sponsoring a free dress day to wear the color green, giving back to your teachers by providing them with something sweet to eat or cleaning the school grounds to make them more welcoming and inviting. Be creative, be innovative, and do what you can to make a positive difference in your school and community. I am excited to share this week with you and look forward to seeing what you come up with. Be sure to share your excitement with others! Post pictures and videos on social media and share your success with the world! Get involved and have fun! #4HGrowsHere.
