Mr. David Williams was an integral part of the 4-H family since 1977 when he began his tenure as a LSU Dairy Science employee. In 1980, David became an extension faculty member for 4-H Youth Development where he used clinics, workshops and field days on parish, regional and state levels to train 4-H and FFA members in outdoor skills, communications, all species of livestock, finances, photography, character development, food prep and nutrition. He authored several statewide materials through serving on curriculum development teams and has taught at an estimated 4,000 club meetings.
David guided project work as an advisory committee member and served as a volunteer at the state level in poultry, beef, swine, goat, horse, dairy, leadership and outdoor skills.
Given his innumerable efforts and many years of service, David was nominated for and won several awards including:LAE4-HA distinguished service and meritorious awards, continuing excellence awards, LCES program excellence awards, and two nominations for USDA secretary’s award for personal and professional excellence.
