Research focus: Development and application of assisted reproductive technologies in livestock and exotic species. Technologies include artificial insemination, embryo transfer, micro-manipulation and cryopreservation for domestic livestock and exotic species improvement, as well as for various biomedical applications.
Special features: Accredited by the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC International); home to the Embryo Biotechnology Laboratory, which is internationally known for its in-vitro fertilization and biotechnology research. The Livestock Entomology Laboratory is also located on this station.
Size: 1,000 acres in pasture for cattle, horses and goats and 200 acres in forest.
Location: On the east side of Louisiana Highway 30 approximately 11 miles south of the LSU A&M campus in Baton Rouge and 9 miles north of the St. Gabriel/Gonzales I-10 exit.
