LSU AgCenter Dean Lee Field Day set for July 9

The LSU AgCenter Dean Lee Research and Extension field day on July 9, 2015, will feature presentations about cotton, corn, cattle, soybeans, nutrient management and weed management.

The event will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. followed by field tours at 8:45 a.m.

The field tours will include presentations by LSU AgCenter experts on:
  • integration of cover crops into LA production systems
  • disease management update
  • soybean seeding rates
  • insect management in field crops
  • issues in weed management
  • current research in cotton and corn agronomy
  • UAV technologies in agriculture

“We are providing presentations on a wide range of topics because it reflects the diverse nature of agriculture in central Louisiana,” said Boyd Padgett, director of the Dean Lee Station and the LSU AgCenter’s Central Region. An indoor program, followed by lunch, will be held at the state evacuation center adjacent to the research station.
