There will be a Jr. Leader Meeting on September 12th at 12pm at the Extension Office. This meeting is open to all 4-H’ers who are in grades 7-12. If you like to have fun, meet new people, participate in awesome activities and become outstanding leaders this is the group for you! The WBR Jr. Leader Club is completely run by the members and officers, they choose their own social activities, service learning projects make other important decisions. Last years Jr. Leader Club worked at OLOL Children’s Hospital for their service learning project, this was a very rewarding experience for all who were involved.
Also, last year the Jr. Leaders had several social activities throughout the year such as bowling, ice skating, bonfire and riding in a float during the Port Allen Mardi Gras Parade!
Any 4-H member is welcome to make an article of clothing to submit to the Parish Fair. To help those with basic sewing skills and some experience with machine sewing, we are opening the extension office on three consecutive Saturday afternoons, Sept.19 and 26 and October 3. Sewing machines, irons, scissors, and some notions will be available. Knowledgeable adults and older teens will be on hand to assist you in cutting out, sewing, and finishing your pattern.
