In St. Martin Parish, 766 members of the 4-H Clubs completed their 4-H portfolio and project books and turned them in to the 4-H office for judging. These 4-H Club members were eligible to attend and participate at 4-H Achievement Day, a culminating event for the 4-H school year.
4-H club members gathered on Breaux Bridge High School campus on April 21, 2011, to participate in the following fun educational programs. The sessions conducted were about Drug Awareness, Fire Truck Demonstation, McGruff/Games, Cookie Decorating, Living Necklace, Fishing, Boating Safety, Germ Cave, Games 2U and Teambuilding/Parachute.
The 4-H'ers also competed in various contest such as demonstrations, talks, speeches, posters, exhibits, arts and crafts and cookie exhibits. The 4-H Club members competed and earned placing points in each contest. A first, second, and third place award is given in each grade division. The program for the day included a morning assembly and after lunch, when all activities were completed, there was an awards program for presenting trophies to winning 4-H Clubs and individual members.
