The First Annual 4-H Shooting Sports Competition was held on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at the St. Landry Parish Sheriff Department’s Kops & Kids Camp.  The campsite is located on Louisiana Highway 182 just south of Washington, La. between Washington and Nuba.

St. Landry Parish 4-H has just begun its 4-H Shooting Sports Club in which a certified instructor teaches safety procedures, safety equipment and proper handling of shotguns, BB guns and archery equipment.  The 4-H’ers enjoyed participating in this competition and have developed strong skills that can qualify them for district and state competitions.
