4-Hers Attend 2011 Challenge Camp

Nine 4-H club members, three junior counselors, one volunteer adult leader and two 4-H Agents participated in the Central Region 4-H Challenge Camp. The event was held at 4-H Camp Grant Walker in Pollock, Louisiana, April 15-17, 2011.  This year’s theme was “Peace, Love and 4-H Challenge Camp."

Challenge Camp is a leadership experience for 7th grade 4-H’ers.  The goals of Challenge Camp are to challenge 7th graders to set high personal goals as a result of activities designed to develop a positive self-concept, interpersonal relationship skills and communication skills.

The camp consisted of three full days of activities to increase self-confidence and self-reliance in young people.  4-H club members were involved in activities which included boat building, outdoor challenges and indoor challenges.
