On February 19, 2013 the St. Helena Parish Nursing Home was fortunate to received plants from Bracy's Nursery and Amite Key & Lock to help develop a flower bed.  Angela Myles, LSU AgCenter, Toni Melton, Youth Coordinator  and John Holiday, SU Agriculture Aide along with Mr. Terry Guy, St. Helena Central High School Ag teacher and his horticulture class designed the bed. They planted over 20 various types of blooming flowers for the patients.  The students learned about soil type, care, depth of planting and names of various plants.  The LSU/SU AgCenter looks forward to future projects with the agriculture class at St. Helena Central High School.

Hopefully the residents of the St. Helena Parish Nursing Home will enjoy this Community Service Project held by the LSU/SU AgCenter.  Thank you to all those who participated in making this possible.
