Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne welcomed more than 2,400 4-H Club participants that included a special invitation for all to visit the Louisiana State Museum and exhibit commemorating the 200th anniversary of Louisiana's statehood during the annual 4-H day at the Capitol event held May 30th in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  In addition to various educational activities conducted during the event, St. Charles Parish 4-H Club members, along with parents, 4-H club leader volunteers and 4-H Club agents met with parish representatives Senator Gary Smith, and House Representatives Gregory Miller and Tom Willmott. 

 Participants from St. Charles Parish attending the annual 4-H Day at the Capitol event included Rene’ Schmit, County Agent; 4-H agents Kali Zammit and Deniese Zeringue; 4-H club leaders and volunteers, Shannon Seymour (Home School Community Club), Lauri Trahan, Renata Lombardi, Julie Abadie, Beau Abadie, Steven Pete, Michelle Doucet (J. B. Martin), and Jarvis Lewis. St. charles parish 4-H club members attending included Addie Schmit (Sacred Heart), Alex Metcalf, Emily Blanchard, Noah Blanchard, Matthew Seymour, Claire Seymour, and Andrew Seymour (Homeschool Community Club), Mary Johns, Michelle Bourgeois, Tate Roussel, Taylor Roussel, Myah Hall, Kiara Hall, Brielle Brumfield, Breoin Brumfield, Kirstie Schexnaydre, Laura Theall, Emmanuel Rodriguez, and Ashton Brown (Junior Leader Club), Remi Mato, Tatum Dugas and Thomasita Gilbert (Lakewood), Megan Trahan, Alexis Tamplain, Ben Abadie, and Madelyn Williams (R. J. Vial), Yasmeen Hamed (Ethel Schoeffner), Lauren Pete ( BCA), LaChele Green (Member-at-Large), and Alia and Sonny Hamed, Bailee and Jonathan Doucet, Riley Brumfield, Kyle Doucet, and Jacob Abadie (family members of 4-H club members).

If you would like to be a part of the St. Charles Parish 4-H Club adventure, do fun and exciting things, meet new people, attend camping, outdoor and many other special events, then all you have to do is join the 4-H club at your school!  Enrollment for students 4th through 12th grade starts in September. If your school does not have a 4-H club, parents may call the 4-H office at 985-785-4473 to sign up their child as a member-at-large.
