Healthier Pecan Pie

A healthier version of pecan pie using egg whites, sugar-free maple syrup and Grape Nuts cereal

1 cup sugar-free maple syrup
1 TBSP all -purpose flour
3 egg whites
1 cup sugar
2 TBSP butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 cups pecans
3/4 cup Grape Nuts cereal
1 unbaked 9 inch deep dish pie crust

  •  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  •  Stir the first six ingredients throughly, using a spoon. Mix in pecans     and cereal
  • Pour into pie crust
  • Bake on center rack of oven for 55 to 60 minutes. Cool for two (2) hours.

*Pie is done when center reaches 200 degrees F.  Tap center surface of pie lightly; it should spring back when done.
