The annual 4-H Achievement Day was held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the State Evac Shelter on the LSU-A Campus. The theme for this year's event was "Saddle Up With 4-H". Approximately 150 4-H'ers participated in a variety of contests that tested their knowledge of their year in 4-H projects.

The winners from the Penny King and Queen Contest were announced. The 2013 Penny King is Michael Crenshaw of Hayden R. Lawrence Elementary and the Queen is Remy Winners of Alexandria Country Day School.

A special "thanks" goes to Mr. Jim Shipp, Director of the State Evac Shelter and the rest of the staff for their support of the 4-H Youth Development program and for making the annual Achievement Day a success.
