Louisiana’s First Lady, Supriya Jindal, raved about the work being done by the Pointe Coupee 4-H Junior Master Gardener Program after visiting the Rosenwald school garden.

Mrs. Jindal was greeted by students, teachers and administrators from Rosenwald Elementary, as well as LSU AgCenter staff members, and taken on a tour of the students' garden. Mrs. Jindal was able to walk through rows of cabbage, potatoes, onions, peas, cucumbers, tomatoes, okra and blooming sunflower plants.

The students of Rosenwald Elementary presented Mrs. Jindal with a gift basket of fresh vegetables and flowers harvested from the garden to take home to Governor Jindal and their children.

Mrs. Jindal commended the great work being done by the students and faculty of Rosenwald Elementary and the Pointe Coupee Extension Office as they enhance elementary education in Louisiana.
