Contest

There's more to 4-H than just club meetings...look what else you could be doing! Make a poster telling the story of beef and/or dairy products and you could put some extra cash in your pocket! Think BILLBOARD SLOGAN - short, catchy and to the point. Contest entries are due to the 4-H office by May 1, 2010.

Beef Poster Rules and Regulations:

  1. Poster must be 11” x 14” in size on WHITE poster board, only. (That’s a half standard sheet)
  2. Your name must be written on the UPPER RIGHT CORNER on the BACK of the poster. Include, name, address, age, grade in school and parish.
  3. You should focus on positive images and sayings about beef and avoid negative statements about other products.
  4. Get ideas from magazines, parents, friends, nutrition bulletins, and beef-related websites. You might try the American Meat Institute and the National Livestock and Meat Board for references.
  5. DO NOT use copyrighted materials in your poster. Pictures, clip-art and cartoon characters, advertisements, logos, etc. that are copyrighted may not be used on the poster or it will be disqualified.
  6. You may use computer generated clip-art if it is not copyrighted.

Divisions:

#1 = 4th, 5th & 6th grades

#2 = 7th, 8th & 9th grades

#3 = 10th, 11th & 12th grades

  1. Poster must be 22” x 28” in size on poster board, only. (That’s a standard sheet)
  2. Do not attach anything to the poster that is more than 1/2” thick.
  3. Your name must be written on the UPPER RIGHT CORNER on the BACK of the poster. Include, name, address, age, grade in school and parish.
  4. Get ideas from magazines, parents, friends, nutrition bulletins, and beef-related websites. You might try the Louisiana Dairy Industry Promotion Board.
  5. DO NOT use copyrighted materials in your poster. Pictures, clip-art and cartoon characters, advertisements, logos, etc. that are copyrighted may not be used on the poster or it will be disqualified.
  6. You may use computer generated clip-art if it is not copyrighted.

Divisions:

#1 = 4th, 5th & 6th grades

#2 = 7th & 8th grades

#3 = 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th grades
