Sixth through eighth grade 4-H youth have a great opportunity to participate in a fun weekend of challenges with the NE Regional Challenge Camp October 2-4, 2014 at Camp Grant Walker. This year’s camp has a pirate theme and all of the challenges are based around that theme. It’s a great opportunity for these youth to gain in their leadership, decision-making, and team work skills as well as having fun and making friends with 4-H youth from the NE region. Staying at Camp Grant Walker allows for the youth to experience a camp setting especially if they haven’t ever been to camp. It’s a great camp that includes other camp activities such as two nights of dances and movies.
Cost is $75 and this includes lodging, supplies, meals, snacks, and a t-shirt. Challenge Camp spans Thursday evening, all day and night Friday, and Saturday morning. We normally get to camp around 5:30-6:00 pm and leave Saturday morning after breakfast and should return to Winnsboro around 10:00 am. Deadline to register is September 17.
to print the registration form, or pick one up at the 4-H office (we are located in the Franklin Parish Courthouse). Forms are also being distributed to the schools for those in the 6th
grades. You may call 435-7551 if you have any further questions.
