How Much CAN You Give?

ATTENTION 4-H’ERS: The EBR Parish canned food drive is at full speed! The drive will end the week of November 18th-22nd and all you have to do is collect canned goods and agents will come to your school and pick up your collection. If you have not made arrangement at your school, take the leadership role and speak with your leader and school administration to arrange a school-wide collection.

Members at large can bring their collections to the EBR Parish Office no later than November 22nd. All canned goods collected will be donated to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank for the needy for this holiday season. Use your head, heart, hands, and health to do your part and give back to your community!

Junior Leader Club Meeting

The 2nd Jr. Leader meeting of the 2013-2014 school year will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at 6:30 pm at the EBR Parish Office (805 St. Louis St., BRLA 70802). All parish 7th-12th grade members are invited to attend the meeting. We’ll be discussing service learning opportunities in East Baton Rouge Parish and planning our events for the upcoming year. All 7th-12th grade members at large are encouraged to attend, so don’t miss out on a great learning and service experience!

Shooting Sports News

The field day scheduled for October 19th was postponed due to inclement weather in the Baton Rouge are and has been rescheduled for November 2nd from 1:00-3:00 pm. The mandatory training slated for November 2nd has also been rescheduled for November 16th from 1:00-3:00 pm. All other practices will remain as scheduled (weather permitting). In order to compete in regional and state 4-H sponsored shoots, participants must attend at least 3 full practices throughout the year, not including the mandatory practice on November 16th. Though practices are not mandatory for 4-H’ers to take part in the program, it is strongly encouraged that participants attend as many as possible in order to master the skill of shooting.

Something New: Not only will participants receive email reminders but Shooting Sports also has a Facebook group through our parish page. Like “EBR Parish 4-H” and you can be added to the EBR Shooting Sports group. It’s that simple!

4th-6th Grade Community Club

The second EBR Community Club meeting will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the EBR Parish Office at 6:30 pm. 4th-6th graders who are members at large or who missed their school club meeting are invited to attend to catch up on all of the latest 4-H issues and events!
