Attention all 4th-6th graders! Now is your chance to sign up for 4-H Summer Camp 2014! East Baton Rouge Parish will be attending summer camp at Camp Grant Walker in Pollock, Louisiana July 7-11, 2014. Join Miss Abby and Mr. Shawn for five days of fun in the sun while exploring the outdoors, brewing up delicious treats, building rockets, wading in the creek, and setting the stage! If you are interested in attending, please contact Miss Abby for registration forms and details. Camp is filled on a first come, first serve basis so reserve your spot now!

Are you 13-18 years of age and interested in winning an all-expense paid trip? Well 4-H University is your best opportunity to do so! 4-H University is a 3 day experience on LSU’s campus where participants will train and compete in one of 30 contests. Your 4-H agents will help train and assist you in obtaining your highest level of competition. Those members not interested in competing can participate in Clover College. 4-H’ers also have the opportunity to stay in the dorms with participants from all over Louisiana, tour campus facilities, and dance the night away at the nightly dances!

The LSU AgCenter is proud to present 2014 Ag Magic to be held at the John M. Parker Coliseum on the LSU Baton Rouge Campus. The event will run from April 28-May2 for school tours and open May 3-4 for the general public from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

This fun, interactive event allows participants to walk through the various different agriculture industries that are found in Louisiana. From agronomy to zoology, attendees will witness and experience it all. Our hands-on stations allow youngsters to see first-hand what agriculture really is. Most exhibits are geared towards youngster up to 5th grade level; however, this event is great for the whole family! Mark your calendars; you won’t want to miss it!

This parish-wide community service project will run through April 16, 2014. This is a simple way for clubs in EBRP to take part in a service project and spread the spirit of 4-H! All clubs are encouraged to participate and collect as much change as possible. At the conclusion of this contest, the club that collects the most change will choose the charity that all funds will be donated to. All change collected will go towards making a positive change in our community and making EBRP a better place. If your school is interested in participating, please contact the EBRP 4-H Office to get your official Change for Change collection jar. Don’t wait, contribute TODAY!

Congratulations to all shooting sports members that competed in the EBR February Invitational. Over 30 individuals took part in competition in air rifle, archery, and shotgun on February 8, 2014 at the 4-H Property in Baker. Through this event, the parish program was able to raise enough money to buy new equipment for future programming. Special thanks to all parents and volunteers who helped make this shoot the most successful yet! Your tireless efforts and support are what make this club a success!
