4-H Day at the Capitol
Twleve Caldwell Parish 4-H'ers travelled to Baton Rouge, La. on June 1, 2011 to participate in the 10th annual 4-H Day at the Capitol where they toured the state capitol with other 4-H club members from across the state and visited with Senator Neil Riser. Accompnaying them were volunteer leaders Clivette Scroggs and Judith McKee and agents Casey Johnston and Jim McCann.

4-H Camp
LSU AgCenter agents Casey Johnston and Jim McCann along with 50 Caldwell 4-H campers and Junior Leader Bobbie Butler attended the 2011 4-H Camp held at the Grant Walker Educational Center in Pollock, La. Joining Caldwell for this week-long event were 4-H youth and adult volunteer leaders from Livingston, St. Helena, Washington, Terrebone, East Feliciana, Winn and LaFourche parishes. Youth were given the opportunity to engage in numerous hands-on activities in a variety of areas such as archery, dramatic arts, canoeing, swimming, cooking, all-terrain vehicle safety, arts and crafts, technology and outdoor skills. 4-H Camp is a learning experience that helps members appreciate the outdoors, live together as a group, get along with others and appreciate people with different backgrounds and interests. Bobbie Butler attended camp as a camp counselor this summer. Thank you to this wonderful Junior Leader for providing leadership for the 4-H youth throughout the week. A special thank you to Scott Meredith for sponsoring some of our Caldwell parish 4-H youth and giving them the opportunity to attend 4-H Camp.
