The final payment for 4-H Camp is due May 5, 2011, to the 4-H Office.

Campers! Order your camp pillowcase for $8 each. The pillowcase is an additional item for campers to enjoy. Payment is due to the 4-H office May 16, 2011. Make check payable to: Assumption 4-H Foundation.

4-H Day at the Capitol

The Tenth Annual 4-H Day at the Capitol is June 1, 2011. 4-H Day at the Capitol provides an opportunity for 4-H members to learn about the legislative process beginning with an assembly at 10 a.m. 4-H exhibits and displays are setup in the rotunda adding to the 4-H Day at the Capitol program. If you are interested in attending you must register by calling the 4-H office (985-369-6386) by May 3, 2011.

4-H U

4-H U competition will be held June 21-24, 2011, at the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. 4-H’ers will compete on the state level in several contests for prizes, all-expense paid trips and scholarships. If you have any questions contact Margo Castro or call the 4-H office at 985-369-6386.

LSU Football Tickets

Again this year the LSU Athletic Department is offering the 4-H Program an opportunity to purchase tickets for the LSU vs. Western Kentucky game on Saturday, November 12, 2011. All tickets are $25 and seats are located in the upper deck. If you are interested in ordering tickets call the 4-H office at 985-369-6386 or email Margo Castro. The deadline to find out how to order tickets is June 15, 2011. No exceptions.

LOST Camp

Any 7th-8th graders interested in attending the  Louisiana Outdoor Science and Technology Camp  (LOST), August 1-5, 2011, will need to call the 4-H Office by May 23, 2011.

LOST Camp will be held at Camp Grant Walker in Pollock. LOST Camp is intended to promote the awareness of career choice opportunities through hands-on scientific learning and discovery. Tracks that will be covered are Robotics, Physics, Kitchen chemistry, Recycling, Wetlands, Energy, Outdoor Skills, Videography, Forensic Science and Explosive Chemistry (tentative). The fee for LOST Camp is $180 which includes your camp T-shirt. The $50 deposit fee and forms are due to the 4-H Office by June 7, 2011. Please call the 4-H Office at 985-369-6386 should you have any questions.

Year End Message

As this school year comes to an end, I would especially like to thank all of the volunteers, supporters, parents and leaders who helped to make this year a success. You are all an important part of the puzzle.

Thanks for a great year and I hope everyone has a safe summer.
